SCHOOL CHOICE
"ARKANSAS PUBLIC SCHOOL CHOICE ACT OF 2015"
The Concord Public Schools participates in the "Arkansas Public School Choice Act of 2015."
A Public School Choice program was established to give parents and students more options with respect to where the student attends public school and to enable any student to attend a school in a district in which the student does not reside, subject to the restrictions contained in Act 560 of 2015.
Time Line
May 1
Parents must submit school choice applications to the nonresident district. The nonresident district shall notify the resident of the filing of the application.
July 1
The superintendent of the nonresident district shall notify the parent and resident district in writing as to whether the student's application has been accepted or rejected.
December 15
The Arkansas Department of Education shall report to each school district the net maximum number of school choice transfers for the next school year.
